2 x 1000 MW coal fired Power Station
Jimah East Power CFPP is owned by Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB). TNB is the largest publicly listed power company in Southeast Asia. The 1000 MW units are equipped with Sea Water FGD systems. The scrubbed flue gas exit temperature is 90ºC. To protect the flues against the very corrosive operating conditions, TNB chose to construct the steel flues with a protective PennguardTM lining.
Corrosion protection and thermal insulation in one
A PennguardTM lining provides both corrosion protection and thermal insulation. So, no external insulation is needed. The external surface of the steel flues will remain cool, even when the flue gas temperature is high.
Flexible
A PennguardTM lined chimney is equally suitable for fully, partially or non-desulphurized gas flows. It allows its owners great flexibility in choosing their preferred operating mode.
Practical
A PennguardTM lining is tolerant of small weld and steel imperfections. It can easily be shaped around design details. It has been designed for the reality of large construction projects.
